This guide complements the training on offer from the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) and the KFE School of Fish Frying Excellence.
Our online Elementary Food Hygiene programme results in a nationally recognised qualification, awarded by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS). The learning materials can be studied using our online programme (see link below) whilst our remote exam invigilations are currently fully funded for people working in a UK fish and chip shop/restaurant.
Like our online Elementary Food Hygiene training programme, our online Elementary Health and Safety programme is recognised by REHIS. It can be studied by fish friers including managers and supervisors. Our online invigilated exam is currently fully subsidised by fish friers working in the UK.
REHIS are the national awarding body for Environmental Health Officers and our joint awarding partner for the programmes above.
A Learner Workbook on the principles of frying fish and chips.
Seafish in collaboration with the NFFF developed nine short videos which show the viewer how to prepare and cook fish and chips. This series of videos are useful to supplement any practical training conducted by a fish frier in their place of work.
Apprenticeships are a great tool to support fish friers with their learning and development. They can help a learner to enhance their knowledge whilst also assisting them with their practical skills.
The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) is a trade organisation for fish and chip businesses. It has been supporting its members for over 100 years. They protect the interests of fish friers and their businesses, and promote the fish and chip brand.
