Introduced into East Anglia in the 20th century and spreading sucessfully across England.

Stizostedion lucioperca

From the Perch family and sometimes called Pike-Perch. Ranges from 450g–4.5kg, but not often found in the UK, preferring warmer European waters. Zander is also farmed in many parts of mainland Europe making it more readily available. Generally regarded as having a better flavour than most other freshwater fish.
