Labridae family

A distant relative of Parrotfish, these two brightly coloured fish are similar and can be confused.

Despite comprising about 500 species, the Labridae family of wrasse are more difficult to source than Parrotfish and do not always have as much flavour, particularly when caught in more temperate waters – the Ballan and Cuckoo Wrasse are found as far north as the UK and Norway.

Cook as for Snapper or Sea Bream.
